Dear Taxpayer:
These are hard times for our nation, our state, our local communities and ourselves. Since 1958 the Santa Barbara County Taxpayers Association has carefully watched where your tax dollars go, and that they are used prudently for the betterment of our county and cities.
Therefore it is with great regret that we tell you today that Santa Barbara County is in crisis, facing a malaise of fiscal problems that stem – remarkably – less from the current economic ills facing us all and more because of bad decision making by the Board of Supervisors.
